and Pastors Serve the World

The 8.8 magnitude earthquake and subsequent, immense aftershocks that hit Chile
have left that South American country in crisis. Yet, in the midst of it all, OCC-supported ministries there are being Jesus to people in this quake-ravaged region.

OCC has partnered with Iberoamerican Ministries (IAM) for nearly thirty years and the impact of these Jesus-followers throughout South America continues to be nothing less than miraculous.Chile Wreckage 3 - Phillips Family Street 2

While OCC is relieved to learn that no one on the IAM team is hurt, churches, ministry centers, offices and the homes of IAM workers have been damaged or destroyed. In spite of this, the people of IAM are working to send relief teams and care for people most affected by this natural disaster.

Here's a brChile Wreckage 2 - Phillips Family Apartmentief note from the IAM ministry center:

As faithful partners and friends of IAM, we want you to know our
team and missionaries there are safe.
However, as you can imagine there are lots of urgent needs. A few missionaries and community members lost their homes and several church buildings sustained damage. We have a team ready to take relief to the affected families in Concepción. These are immediate and urgent needs. We want to help those with the deepest needs first; then we’ll start the rebuilding work on our churches. IAM Web site.
