Conquering in the Wonder Years

Conquering in the Wonder Years

And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon him. Luke 2:40 NIV

ADVENTURE

“I see my path, but I don't know where it leads. And not knowing where I'm going… is what inspires me to travel it.” -Rosalia de Castro

David said to Saul, "Your servant has been keeping his father's sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it.  1 Samuel 17:34-35 NIV

Do I have WHAT IT TAKES

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle. Psalm 18:32-34 NIV

 RESPONSIBILITY

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:17 NIV

“If you want children to keep their feet on the ground, put some responsibility on their shoulders.” - Abigail Van Buren

Can I HANDLE THIS

Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God.  The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." Saul said to David, "Go, and the LORD be with you." 1 Samuel 17:36-37 NIV

 CONFIDENT

For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth. Psalm 71:5 NIV

As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him. Reaching into his shepherd’s bag and taking out a stone, he hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine in the forehead. The stone sank in, and Goliath stumbled and fell face down on the ground. 1 Samuel 17:48-49 NIV

Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.  Psalm 27:3 NIV

Am I doing this RIGHT

1. WOUND OF FEAR

For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.  Isaiah 41:13 NIV

2. WOUND OF FAILURE

David also said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you… 1 Chronicles 28:20 NIV

The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. Proverbs 24:16 NIV
