We are having another GREAT ALPHA seeker group. Of the 30 people who attended the first meeting, about 15 are seekers. Here is what is being asked and said around the tables:
- "Where do I even start in reading a Bible?"
- "I thought all religions were the same."
- "I came to church because bad things have been happening to me and thought I should check this out."
- "I'm not talking, not yet. I'm just listening to the conversation."
- "Can I really be loved? I struggle believing that."
ALPHA is a tool at OCC to create a safe environment for seekers to ask questions of faith. In the 2 hours weekly over 6 weeks, we spend time getting to know each other over a meal, teaching core content of the Christian faith and then allowing for group discussion. With every session, we are seeing around 90% response rate to accepting Christ.
You are welcome to visit and check it out Sundays, 4 – 6 pm in NW-2 through February 25, 2007. Our next ALPHA session starts April 22, 2007. Be praying about who you might invite.
