Frequently Asked Questions
Who can attend a MOPS group? Mothers with at least one preschool aged child, from newborn through Kindergarten. Moms pregnant with their first child are welcome to attend MOPS. Moms with older children and one preschooler are also welcome to come to MOPS. Top This sounds great! But how much does all this cost?A $20 registration fee is expected at the time of registration. We also have two semester fees of $55 each (September through January, and February through May (prorated for those joining part way through)). Scholarships are available if you are in need, please let us know on your registration, and return along with your registration and $20 registration fee. The $20 registration fee goes to MOPS International and registers you for MOPS-to-Mom Connection, MOPS International Membership. As a charter of MOPS International we are required to sign up every MOPS mom. Some great benefits that come with this are: No. You are welcome to join anytime during the year. Top I have an older child that I home school - can I bring him also? The highest class level that we currently offer is for 5s and up. The majority of children in this class are 5 or 6 years old and the curriculum is geared to this level. Older children may be placed in this class as "helpers," provided they are willing to help without distracting the younger ones. Top My child threw up this morning, but I could really use a break. Can I still come?Yes, you may come, but your child will need to stay home. We run a Well Child Program. If your baby or child has a cold or other illness, he/she will be more comfortable at home, and that would help us avoid passing the illness on to other children in the nursery or classroom. Top What about snow days?We follow the Lake Washington School District for closures. So if the Lake Washington School District is closed, we will not be meeting that day and will resume our regular schedule at the next meeting. Top I'm not sure this is for me, can I come and check it out without registering for a whole year? Yes, but you will need to check to make sure your child(ren)'s class does not have a waiting list. Just contact us and let us know you would like to come and visit as a one-time guest. If we have space available for your children we will let you know. You are always free to find alternate care for your children so that you may come. Top My sister is visiting from out of town, can she come with me? Yes, but you will need to check to make sure your child(ren)'s class does not have a waiting list. Just contact us and let us know you would like to come and visit as a one-time guest. If we have space available for your children we will let you know. You are always free to find alternate care for your children so that you may come. Please contact us at least 24 hours in advance. Top Are there ways that I can get involved? Absolutely! We have many opportunities to get involved. Our creative activities, hospitality, publicity, and special event teams can always use new energy and fresh ideas. Our Mom Care network provides meals or other helps to moms with needs. Your meal can be a lifesaver to another mom. Just let us know if you are willing to help serve. You can check out the opportunities page for more information, or contact us.
