| iThemba Letu "I Have a Destiny"
MOPS at OCC is partnering with Jodi Howerton to raise items and funds to support the iThemba Letu project established to impact two of the most vulnerable groups of children affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in South Aftrica: babies orphaned or abandoned and young adolescents who are increasingly becoming infected with the AIDS virus. They are teaching teachers and children they have value.
Care packages will be sent to the 8 youth and 4 parent workers of iThemba Lethu, providing encouragement and support to the people. Any donation you can make towards this effort will be greatly appreciated! Donations will be collected at the May 13 MOPS meeting.
Suggest Donations for Care Packages:
Pen and pencil set
A folder that holds a legal sized writing pad and pen
Candy (non-meltin)
Christian music CDs
Books: spiritual help books/ study bible (think small and light)

| Clothes Recycling at Retex Northwest
Retex Northwest is working within the Northwest community to develop comprehensive and strategic environmental solutions for recycling unwated clothes, shoes, backpacks and other textiles. The garments you recycle will benefit people all over the globe. Collected textiles and shoes are shipped to overseas grading stations wehre they are sorted by size, season, gender, and condition. . . then shipped to countries which are experiencing severe shortages of even the most basic clothing. Garments which are no longer wearable (stained, holes) can be made into "rags" or pulled apart and reprocessed into fibers for paper, upholstery, and insulation materials. Clothes which cannot be recycled are composted whenever possible. less than 5% of the unused clothing will end up as solid waste. Call 425.742.8377 for more information or visit their website at retexnorthwest.com
