The ONENESS created in marriage is so profound (and in many ways, mysterious), that God uses marriage as a metaphor to describe His relationship with people who love Him. In fact, the Bible calls those who follow Jesus the BRIDE of Christ.

MarriedLife at Overlake is a combination of OCC ministries...all with a heart to walk alongside couples -- those whose marriages are in a good place right now as well as husbands and wives who need some help if their relationship is to survive.

Through special events, marriage mentoring and biblical counseling, Overlake's MarriedLife ministries work together to not only help relationships survive...but come alive.

My heart’s desire is for every marriage to be a growing and fruitful experience. I know it doesn’t always work out that way. I understand. Judy and I have experienced both the pain of a crumbling marriage and the joys of what God can do with a two of willing hearts.

I have the joy in my role at OCC to lead a dedicated core of caring couples and individuals who can help you prepare for a godly marriage and be available when a crisis comes.

Pre-Marriage Training

Premarrige training wasn’t available when Judy and I married in 1969. I know many of our trials could have been avoided if we had this opportunity. If you are considering marriage, I highly recommend committing to the 8 week premarriage opportunities scheduled throughout the year. Completing this training is a requirement to be married by an OCC pastor.

These groups are led by mature couples who facilitate discussion on topics such as expectations in marriage, communication, sexual relations, finances, children, family and friends, and spiritual beliefs.

The cost is $150 per couple for Overlake members and $175 for non members and an application must be completed and mailed/faxed. For more information on an upcoming training or to register, Lori Dilio / 425.941.9180.

Weddings

Our wedding ministry staff looks forward to working with you. We want your wedding to be a very special and memorable occasion. Our chapel and reception room is available for weddings of up to 400 attendees. We would love to help you schedule and arrange your wedding and reception. Marriage Mentoring

Almost everything I have learned about marriage has come from making mistakes. Believe me, there is a better way. Take this opportunity to learn from another couple who has been married several years. We have several godly couples who are eager to help you on your path to a successful marriage.

We have couples who have experiences in areas like spiritual growth, setting and achieving goals, parenting, finances, communication, and empty nest issues.
