Overlake is committed to partnering with parents to better connect children to biblical virtues and values. This is accomplished through our church's overall purpose to Love God, Love People and Serve the World.

Helping children love God happens when leaders share the greatness of God and show kids that they can trust Him 'no matter what' because nothing is too big for God. These leaders reinforce the biblical messages children may be hearing at home and share God's love with those who have never experienced it before.

Secondly, helping children to love people is a value they need to know in order to grow in their faith. We want children to be able to talk to their friends as well as adults about their faith. We encourage children to: participate in small groups, have friends that share their faith, feel comfortable building new relationships, and reach out with God's love to those who are different.

As children begin to serve the world, either in their neighborhood, school or through special projects, they'll need a sense of God's plan for their life to help them make wise choices. We want kids to see our world from God's perspective. Parents who make it their business to know where their kids are spiritually by spending time together, reading the Bible and applying His truth to their daily lives will promote their children's spiritual development.
