Living the Questions in Luke
NavPress
Length: 10 sessions
Materials: Study book
This is an interesting study with emphasis on encouraging the participants to think through the implications of Jesus' teachings to our day and our circumstances. The study seeks to involve the participant in the process of answering the questions Jesus raised in the book of Luke. This study uses The Message translation of the Bible and quotes secular and Christian authors to provoke discussion. Requires a willingness to think “outside the box” and come to conclusions through careful and deep thought. Could also be used as an asset to the “Walk with Jesus” sermon series as an interesting way to engage the members of your group in meaningful conversation about Jesus.
Jeremiah/Lamentations: Shepherd’s Notes for when you need a guide through the Scriptures

How Could God Allow Suffering and Evil?
Gary Poole
Length: 6 sessions
Materials: Study book with helps for leaders
This study is part of the “Tough Questions” series. It is designed to give spiritual seekers (or non-Christians) a chance to raise questions and investigate the basics of the Christian faith within the safe context of a small group. It would also make an excellent study for believers, however, as they wrestle through the really tough question of how a good God can allow evil to exist in the world. This will be a very timely study in lieu of the many tragic events of the past year. It will strengthen the faith of the members of the group as they come to a better understanding of the God who can stand up to scrutiny. Expect spirited dialogue!
It’s Not About Me
Max Lucado
Length: 14 Chapters
Materials: Book with Study Guide included For those groups who like reading through a book, Max Lacado has come up with sort of a follow up to the Purpose Driven Life. Also a New York Times bestseller, this book asks and answers, “What happens when the sweet life we were promised proves to be sour? When our expensive toys break and our work is no longer needed and our bodies grow soft? And what would change if we finally found our place – and lived it?” What if we set our sights on a different goal - made our priority a divine pursuit? This book shows you how to make the shift of a lifetime – to being God-centered, to gain what you’ve been missing and find out what you’ve been seeking all along.
