Biblical Counseling

Personal or Family Crisis -  Relationship Challenges - Feeling Alone - Questioning What Life is About: OCC's Biblical Counseling ministry may be able to help you.

This ministry is staffed with many caring, committed Christians who have been trained in biblical counseling. They volunteer their time and understand emotional pain, dashed dreams, and God’s love. They are not professionals but have a wealth of life experiences, biblical understanding and a deep relationship with Jesus. They are available to meet with you during daytime and evening hours.

Biblical Counseling is kept confidential and no fee is charged because the counselors volunteer their time (counselees are encouraged to make a donation/offering to support the counseling ministry).

To apply for counseling, print or download and complete an application (Adobe Reader is required); then fax, mail, or e-mail the application to . You can also leave the application at OCC Reception during office hours or at the Mallway Information Center during Sunday services. Applicants will be matched with a biblical counselor as soon as an appropriate one is available.

Questions

  • Do people seek you out for advice?
  • Have you wanted to help but didn't know how to respond?
  • Do you wish you could use scripture more effectively?

If you can relate to any of these questions, consider enrolling in the next Biblical Counseling Training class.

Overlake's Biblical Counseling Training will teach you how to help adults, couples and families in their time of need. The biblical insight you gain will also help YOU grow personally, in your marriage and other relationships.

Fundamentals in Biblical Counseling trains you to be a biblical counselor. Issues in Biblical Counseling is for people wanting to expand their biblical counseling knowledge. The "fundamentals" class is required to become an OCC biblical counselor; the "issues" class is not...though it is HIGHLY recommended.
