The first step in learning to live significantly is learning how to read and interpret the Bible. This workshop is an inductive, manuscript study of the first half of the Gospel of Mark. It will be taught in two parts and will occupy both workshop sessions. Inductive Scripture study is a hands on, interactive dissection of the text. Participants are asked to observe, interpret, and apply the text throughout the sessions. At the end of the conference, participants will have a deeper understanding of the life of Jesus and how they can directly apply his teachings to their everyday lives.
Kathleen Hamer // Co-Director of OCC’s Orphan Care Initiative
It is estimated that almost 150 million children live and die alone on the streets of our world. Who is taking care of the children? What is our responsibility for these forgotten children? Whose responsibility are they? This workshop will explore what the Bible has to say about why WE should care about and for these children of the world. We will explore what it really means to have a heart like God’s and will discuss everyday steps we can take to help the world’s orphans.

God has created you to live a life of incredible significance. In this workshop we’ll teach you to discover, develop and deploy your unique spiritual gifts, so that you can begin living significantly. This is a hand’s-on working seminar. You will receive and take the SHAPE survey, a spiritual gifts questionnaire, BEFORE the session. We’ll work through the survey in small groups to help you discover the significance of your unique design for ministry. We’ll also help you explore potential ministry opportunities or fine-tune the way you are currently serving in your area of passion. There will be opportunity to sign up for individual evaluation of spiritual gifts as well.

Being a woman at any age is an incredible privilege. Though, it's often in the 'becoming' where we as women know seasons of challenge in our sense of self, in our relationships, and within our families. This is especially true for the present generation as their lives are powerfully touched and shaped by their community and their culture. Today's generation of young women experience great opportunities and boundless resources. They also know great challenge and pain as seen in social trends toward cutting, disordered eating, addiction, and sexual activity. This workshop will explore the experiences of today's young women with their peers, within their families, and in their faith. Developed for mothers raising young women as well as women who desire greater conversation about the experiences of today's culture, this workshop is designed to empower young women and their families toward the thriving God desires for His beloved daughters.
